Dear Lord, please help me to always be ready and prepared for your coming. May I never be found standing outside, knocking on the door, only to hear you say that you do not know me. Help me to live a life that is pleasing to you, so that I may enter into your kingdom and dwell with you forever. Amen.

Verse: When once the master of the house has risen up and has shut the door, and you begin to stand outside and to knock at the door, saying, ‘ Lord, Lord, open to us!’ then he will answer and tell you, ‘ I don’t know you or where you come from.’

This is a Command. The verse commands the reader to enter the house before the master shuts the door, otherwise, they will be rejected.
