Dear Lord, I claim the promise that if I am watchful and vigilant, I will not fall prey to the schemes of the enemy. Just as the master of the house would have prevented the thief from breaking in if he had known the hour, I pray that you would give me the discernment and wisdom to recognize the tactics of the enemy and to be prepared for his attacks. Help me to be watchful and alert, so that I may not be caught off guard. Thank you for your promise of protection and guidance. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Verse: But know this, that if the master of the house had known in what hour the thief was coming, he would have watched and not allowed his house to be broken into.

This is a Promise. The verse is stating that if the master of the house had known when a thief was coming, he would have taken precautions to prevent the break-in. The promise is that if we are aware and prepared, we can prevent harm or loss.
