Prayer based on Luke 12:48. Themes: Responsibility, Consequences, Justice.
Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank you for the promise that those who do not know and yet do things worthy of punishment will be beaten with few stripes. I claim this promise for myself and for those around me who may not yet know you.
I also thank you for the reminder that to whom much is given, much will be required. I pray that you would help me to use the gifts and talents you have given me to serve you and others. May I be a good steward of all that you have entrusted to me.
I ask for your guidance and strength to fulfill the responsibilities that come with the blessings you have given me. May I always seek to honor you in all that I do.
Thank you for your love and grace, and for the promises you have given us. In Jesus’ name, I pray.
Amen.
Verse: but he who didn’t know, and did things worthy of stripes, will be beaten with few stripes. To whomever much is given, of him will much be required; and to whom much was entrusted, of him more will be asked.
Luke 12:48
This is a Promise. The verse states that those who did not know and did things worthy of punishment will receive fewer stripes, while those who were given much will be required to do more.
