Prayer based on Luke 12:45. Themes: Diligence, Accountability, Judgment
Dear Lord, please guard my heart from becoming complacent and thinking that your return is delayed. Help me to always be ready and faithful in serving you. May I never mistreat or harm those around me, but instead show them your love and kindness. Keep me from indulging in worldly pleasures and instead fill me with your Spirit so that I may live a life pleasing to you. Amen.
Verse: But if that servant says in his heart, ‘ My lord delays his coming,’ and begins to beat the menservants and the maidservants, and to eat and drink and to be drunken,

This is a Command. The verse commands the reader not to become complacent and abusive while waiting for the return of their lord.
