Prayer based on John 5:19. Themes: Obedience, Father-Son relationship.
Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank you for the promise that Jesus can do nothing of himself, but only what he sees you doing. I claim this promise for my own life and ask that you would help me to see what you are doing in every situation. May I follow in the footsteps of Jesus and do likewise, always seeking to do your will and bring glory to your name.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Verse: Jesus therefore answered them,“Most certainly, I tell you, the Son can do nothing of himself, but what he sees the Father doing. For whatever things he does, these the Son also does likewise.
John 5:19
This is a Promise. The verse states that Jesus can only do what he sees the Father doing, and whatever the Father does, the Son does likewise. This is a promise that Jesus is always following the will of the Father.
