Dear Lord, I claim the promise that you know everyone and everything. Help me to trust in your wisdom and guidance, even when I am unsure of those around me. Like Jesus, may I not entrust myself to those who may lead me astray, but instead put my faith in you alone. Thank you for your constant protection and care. Amen.

This is a Promise. The verse is stating that Jesus did not trust himself to the people around him because he knew them too well.
