Prayer based on John 13:5. Themes: Humility, Service, Love
Dear Lord,
As we come before you today, we ask for your grace and mercy to wash over us. Just as you poured water into the basin and washed the feet of your disciples, we ask that you cleanse us of our sins and make us pure in your sight.
Help us to follow your example of humility and service, and to love others as you have loved us. May we be willing to serve those around us, even in the most menial tasks, just as you did when you washed the feet of your disciples.
Wrap us in your love and grace, and help us to be a reflection of your light in this world. We pray this in your holy name. Amen.
Verse: Then he poured water into the basin, and began to wash the disciples’ feet and to wipe them with the towel that was wrapped around him.
John 13:5
This is a Command. The verse commands the reader to follow Jesus’ example of serving others with humility and love.
