Praying from James 1:23 relating to Obedience, Self-Reflection, Action.
Dear God, please help me to not only hear your word but also to put it into action. May I not be like a man who looks at his reflection in a mirror and forgets what he looks like. Instead, may I be a doer of your word, living out your teachings in my daily life. Give me the strength and courage to follow your will and to be a shining example of your love and grace to those around me. Amen.
Verse: For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man looking at his natural face in a mirror;
James 1:23
This is a Command. The verse commands the reader to not only hear the word but also to act upon it, otherwise they are like a man who sees his reflection in a mirror but does nothing to change his appearance.
