Prayer based on Acts 7:52. Themes: Persecution, Betrayal, Murder.
Dear God, we acknowledge the history of persecution and violence towards your prophets. We ask for forgiveness for the ways in which we have betrayed and turned away from your message of righteousness. Help us to be faithful followers and to honor the legacy of those who have come before us. May we never become betrayers or murderers, but instead seek to live in accordance with your will. Amen.
Verse: Which of the prophets didn’t your fathers persecute? They killed those who foretold the coming of the Righteous One, of whom you have now become betrayers and murderers.
Acts 7:52
This is a Command. The verse is a rebuke to the reader for betraying and murdering the Righteous One, and implies a call to repentance and righteousness.
