Prayer based on Acts 5:4. Themes: Ownership, Power, Deception
Dear God, help me to remember that everything I have is a gift from you and that I am merely a steward of your blessings. May I never forget that while I possess material possessions, they ultimately belong to you. Help me to use them wisely and for your glory. May I never be tempted to deceive others or myself into thinking that I am the ultimate owner of anything. Instead, may I always acknowledge you as the true owner and giver of all good things. Amen.
Verse: While you kept it, didn’t it remain your own? After it was sold, wasn’t it in your power? How is it that you have conceived this thing in your heart? You haven’t lied to men, but to God.”
Acts 5:4
This is a Command. The verse is a rebuke to a man named Ananias who lied about the proceeds of a sale, and the command is for him to repent and confess his sin to God.
