Dear God, I thank you for raising Jesus from the dead and freeing him from the agony of death. I claim the promise that it was not possible for death to hold him, and I trust that it is not possible for death to hold me either. I pray that you would strengthen my faith in this promise and help me to live with the hope and assurance that comes from knowing that death has been defeated. Thank you for your love and grace, and for the victory we have in Jesus. Amen.
Verse: whom God raised up, having freed him from the agony of death, because it was not possible that he should be held by it.
Acts 2:24
This is a Promise. The verse is stating that God raised Jesus from the dead and freed him from the agony of death, because it was impossible for death to hold him. There is no command given to the reader in this verse.
