Praying from 1 Peter 2:10 relating to Salvation, Mercy, Identity

Dear God,

Thank you for the promise that in the past, I was not a people, but now I am your people. I am grateful that I have obtained mercy through your grace and love. I claim this promise today and ask that you continue to guide me on the path of righteousness. Help me to always remember that I am your child and that you have shown me mercy. May I live my life in a way that honors you and brings glory to your name.

In Jesus’ name, I pray,

Amen.

Verse: In the past, you were not a people, but now are God’s people, who had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy.
1 Peter 2:10

This is a Promise. The verse is assuring the reader that they are now God’s people and have obtained mercy, even if they were not in the past.
