Dear Lord, we come before you with humble hearts, acknowledging that there is sexual immorality among us. We ask for your forgiveness and guidance as we seek to live a life that is pleasing to you. Help us to resist the temptations of the flesh and to honor you with our bodies. We pray that we may be a light to those around us, showing them the way to purity and righteousness. May we never engage in sexual immorality that is not even named among the Gentiles, such as having a father’s wife. Instead, may we always strive to live in a way that brings glory to your name. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
Verse: It is actually reported that there is sexual immorality among you, and such sexual immorality as is not even named among the Gentiles, that one has his father’s wife.
1 Corinthians 5:1
This is a Command. The verse is a rebuke to the reader to address and correct the sexual immorality present in their community.
