Dear God, I thank you for choosing the lowly things of the world and the things that are despised. I claim the promise that you will bring to nothing the things that exist. Help me to trust in your plan and to have faith that you will use even the smallest and most insignificant things for your glory. May I always remember that you are in control and that your ways are higher than my ways. Thank you for your love and grace. Amen.

This is a Promise. The verse is stating that God has chosen the weak and despised things of the world to bring down the things that are considered strong and important.
