Praying from 1 Corinthians 10:28. Themes: Conscience, Ownership, Idolatry.

Dear Lord,

As we navigate through this world, we know that there will be times when we are faced with difficult decisions. We pray that you give us the wisdom to discern what is right and wrong.

If anyone tells us that something has been offered to idols, we pray that we have the strength to resist the temptation to partake in it. Help us to remember that our actions can have an impact on others, and we do not want to cause anyone to stumble.

We acknowledge that the earth and everything in it belongs to you, and we want to honor you with our choices. May our conscience be clear as we seek to follow your will.

In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.

Verse: But if anyone says to you, “This was offered to idols,” don’t eat it for the sake of the one who told you, and for the sake of conscience. For “the earth is the Lord’s, with all its fullness.”
1 Corinthians 10:28

This is a Command. The verse commands the reader not to eat food that has been offered to idols for the sake of the one who told them and for the sake of conscience.
