Praying from 1 Corinthians 8:7. Themes: idolatry, conscience, weakness
Dear Lord, please grant us the knowledge to understand that eating food sacrificed to idols is not acceptable in your eyes. Help us to be conscious of our actions and to avoid defiling our conscience. Strengthen our weak conscience and guide us to always make choices that honor and glorify you. Amen.
Verse: However, that knowledge isn’t in all men. But some, with consciousness of an idol until now, eat as of a thing sacrificed to an idol, and their conscience, being weak, is defiled.
1 Corinthians 8:7
This is a Command. The verse commands the reader to not eat as of a thing sacrificed to an idol if their conscience is weak, as it will defile their conscience.
