Prayer based on Mark 8:38. Themes: Shame, Sin, Glory

Dear Lord, I pray that I will never be ashamed of you or your words in this sinful generation. Help me to boldly proclaim your truth and stand firm in my faith, even when it is difficult or unpopular. May I always remember that if I am ashamed of you, you will also be ashamed of me when you come in your Father’s glory with the holy angels. Strengthen me to live a life that honors you and brings glory to your name. Amen.

Verse: For whoever will be ashamed of me and of my words in this adulterous and sinful generation, the Son of Man also will be ashamed of him when he comes in his Father’s glory with the holy angels.”
Mark 8:38

This is a Command. The verse commands the reader to not be ashamed of Jesus and his words in this sinful generation, or else Jesus will be ashamed of them when he returns with the holy angels.
