Praying from Matthew 9:17 relating to Renewal, Preservation.
Dear Lord, help me to understand the importance of putting new wine into fresh wine skins. May I not hold onto old ways of thinking or behaving that no longer serve me or your purpose for my life. Instead, may I be open to new ideas and experiences that will help me grow and thrive. Please guide me to the fresh wine skins that will preserve and enhance the new wine you have for me. Amen.
Verse: Neither do people put new wine into old wine skins, or else the skins would burst, and the wine be spilled, and the skins ruined. No, they put new wine into fresh wine skins, and both are preserved.”
Matthew 9:17
This is a Command. The verse commands the reader to not put new wine into old wine skins, but to put new wine into fresh wine skins to preserve both the wine and the skins.
