Praying from 1 Peter 5:8 relating to temptation, vigilance, spiritual warfare
Dear God, please help me to be sober and self-controlled in all aspects of my life. Help me to be watchful and aware of the schemes of the devil, who walks around like a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour. Protect me from his attacks and give me the strength to resist temptation. Help me to stay focused on you and your will for my life. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.

This is a Command. The verse commands the reader to be sober, self-controlled, and watchful because the devil is seeking whom he may devour.
