Dear God, help me to resist the temptation to seek revenge when I am wronged. Instead, I pray that I may give place to Your wrath and trust in Your justice. I know that vengeance belongs to You alone, and I ask that You would help me to surrender my desire for revenge to You. Thank You for Your promise to repay, and for Your perfect love and wisdom. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Verse: Don’t seek revenge yourselves, beloved, but give place to God’s wrath. For it is written, “Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord.”
Romans 12:19

This is a Command. The reader is instructed not to seek revenge but to leave it to God’s wrath. The verse also quotes a promise from the Lord that He will repay vengeance.
