Dear Lord,

As I come before you today, I am reminded of the promise in your word that says, “Whom do I have in heaven? There is no one on earth whom I desire besides you.” I claim this promise today and declare that you are the only one I desire above all else.

Lord, I thank you for your unfailing love and faithfulness towards me. I pray that you will continue to draw me closer to you and help me to seek your face above all else. May my heart be filled with a deep longing for you, and may I find my satisfaction and joy in you alone.

Thank you for being my rock, my refuge, and my strength. I trust in you completely and know that you will never leave me nor forsake me. Help me to live each day in the light of your love and to honor you in all that I do.

In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.

This is a Promise. The verse is a declaration of the psalmist’s devotion to God and his acknowledgement that nothing on earth can compare to God’s presence in heaven.
