Prayer based on Psalms 66:18. Themes: Repentance, Prayer, Sin

Dear Lord, I pray that you help me to turn away from sin and to cherish righteousness in my heart. I know that if I hold onto sin, you will not listen to my prayers. Please guide me and strengthen me to live a life that is pleasing to you. May my heart be filled with love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Thank you for your grace and mercy. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.

Verse: If I cherished sin in my heart, the Lord wouldn’t have listened.
Psalms 66:18

This is a Command. The verse commands the reader to not cherish sin in their heart if they want the Lord to listen to them.
