Prayer based on Proverbs 21:14. Themes: Gift, Bribery, Anger

Dear Lord, please help me to remember that a gift given in secret can calm anger and diffuse tense situations. May I always seek to bring peace and understanding to those around me. And may I never resort to using bribes or deceit to manipulate others or fuel my own anger. Help me to be a person of integrity and honesty, even in the face of strong emotions. Amen.

Verse: A gift in secret pacifies anger, and a bribe in the cloak, strong wrath.
Proverbs 21:14

This is a Command. The verse instructs the reader to use a gift given in secret to calm someone’s anger, rather than resorting to a bribe given in a cloak to appease strong wrath.
