Dear God, please help me to never mock or belittle those who are less fortunate than me. I know that when I do so, I am reproaching You, my Maker. Instead, help me to show compassion and kindness to those in need. And please forgive me if I have ever taken pleasure in the misfortunes of others, for I know that such a heart is not pleasing to You. Help me to always seek to do good and to love my neighbor as myself. Amen.

Verse: Whoever mocks the poor reproaches his Maker. He who is glad at calamity shall not be unpunished.
Proverbs 17:5
