Praying from Matthew 9:15 relating to Salvation, Sorrow, Fasting.
Dear Lord Jesus,
Thank you for reminding us that we should rejoice in your presence and not mourn. We pray that we may always feel your presence in our lives and be filled with joy. We know that there will be times when we will feel your absence, but we pray that we may fast and seek you with all our hearts during those times. Help us to always remember that you are the bridegroom and we are your friends. May we always be ready to celebrate your return and be filled with joy in your presence.
In your holy name we pray,
Amen.
Verse: Jesus said to them,“Can the friends of the bridegroom mourn as long as the bridegroom is with them? But the days will come when the bridegroom will be taken away from them, and then they will fast.
Matthew 9:15
This is a Command. The command is to fast when the bridegroom (Jesus) is taken away from them.
