Praying from Matthew 20:16. Themes: Humility, Reversal of Fortune, Election

Dear God,

I come before you today claiming the promise that the last will be first and the first will be last. I trust in your divine plan and know that you have a purpose for each and every one of us.

I pray that you help me to be patient and trust in your timing. I know that many are called, but few are chosen, and I pray that I am one of the chosen ones.

Help me to be humble and to serve others with a pure heart. May I always put your will before my own and seek to glorify you in all that I do.

Thank you for your promise that the last will be first and the first will be last. I trust in your goodness and mercy, and I know that you will fulfill your promises in my life.

In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.

Verse: So the last will be first, and the first last. For many are called, but few are chosen.”
Matthew 20:16

This is a Promise. The verse is a promise that those who are last in this world will be first in the kingdom of heaven, and that although many are called to follow Jesus, only a few will be chosen to enter the kingdom.
