Praying from Matthew 10:35 relating to Separation, Conflict, Loyalty
Dear Lord, we pray that you help us understand the true meaning of your words when you said, “For I came to set a man at odds against his father, and a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law.” May we not take this as a call to division, but rather as a call to stand firm in our faith and convictions, even if it means going against the opinions of our loved ones. Help us to love and respect our family members, even when we disagree with them. May we always seek to bring peace and unity, even in the midst of disagreement. Amen.
Verse: For I came to set a man at odds against his father, and a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law.

This is a Command. The verse is instructing the reader to expect and accept division and conflict within their family relationships as a result of following Jesus.
