Dear Lord, I pray that I may be like the seed that falls on fertile ground and takes root. May I receive your word with joy and hold onto it firmly, even in times of temptation. Help me to remain steadfast in my faith and not be swayed by the challenges of this world. May my belief in you be unwavering and may I always seek your guidance and strength. Amen.

Verse: Those on the rock are they who, when they hear, receive the word with joy; but these have no root. They believe for a while, then fall away in time of temptation.
Luke 8:13

This is a Command. The verse is warning the reader to not be like those who believe for a while but fall away in times of temptation. The command is to have deep roots in faith to withstand temptation.
