Dear Lord, I claim the promise that you have given us in Luke 2:35. I pray that you would pierce through my soul with your sword, that the thoughts of my heart may be revealed. I ask that you would bring to light any hidden sin or darkness within me, so that I may repent and turn towards you. May your truth and light shine through me, and may I be a vessel for your love and grace to reach others. Thank you for your promise to reveal the thoughts of our hearts, and for your mercy and forgiveness when we turn to you. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

This is a Promise. The verse is a prophecy spoken to Mary about the future suffering she will experience as the mother of Jesus, and how it will ultimately reveal the true thoughts and intentions of many people’s hearts.
