Dear Lord, I come before you today claiming the promise that you have revealed to us the things that belong to our peace. I pray that you would open my eyes and the eyes of those around me to see and understand these things. May we not be blinded by the distractions and temptations of this world, but instead, may we seek after your truth and wisdom. Help us to walk in the path of peace that you have set before us, and may we find rest and comfort in your loving arms. Thank you for your promise of peace, and may we cling to it always. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

This is a Promise. The verse is a statement of regret that the people did not recognize the things that would bring them peace. There is no command given to the reader.
