Prayer based on Luke 18:13. Themes: Repentance, Humility, Mercy.

Dear God, I come before you as a sinner, unworthy of your mercy and grace. Like the tax collector, I stand far away, not daring to lift up my eyes to heaven. But I know that you are a merciful God, and I claim the promise that you will forgive me and cleanse me from all unrighteousness. I beat my breast and cry out to you, ‘God, be merciful to me, a sinner!’ Thank you for your love and forgiveness, and for the assurance that I am saved by your grace. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Verse: But the tax collector, standing far away, wouldn’t even lift up his eyes to heaven, but beat his breast, saying, ‘ God, be merciful to me, a sinner!’
Luke 18:13

This is a Promise. The verse promises that God will show mercy to those who acknowledge their sins and ask for forgiveness.
