Dear Lord, I claim the promise that you have given us in your word. Just as the lightning flashes from one part of the sky to another, so will the Son of Man be in his day. I pray that you will come quickly and bring your light into the darkness of this world. May your presence shine brightly and bring hope to those who are lost and in need of your love. Help me to be ready for your return and to live each day in anticipation of your coming. Thank you for your promise and for the hope that it brings. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
