Praying from Luke 15:6. Themes: Salvation, Joy, Redemption.

Dear Lord,

As I come before you today, I claim the promise of your word that says, “When he comes home, he calls together his friends and his neighbors, saying to them, ‘Rejoice with me, for I have found my sheep which was lost!’”

Lord, I know that I am like that lost sheep, wandering away from your love and grace. But I thank you that you never give up on me, and that you always seek me out when I am lost.

Today, I ask that you would help me to stay close to you, to follow your voice and your leading. And I pray that when I do stray, you would come after me and bring me back into your loving arms.

Thank you for the promise of your word, that you will never leave me or forsake me. Help me to trust in your unfailing love and to rejoice in the knowledge that I am found in you.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Verse: When he comes home, he calls together his friends and his neighbors, saying to them, ‘ Rejoice with me, for I have found my sheep which was lost!’
Luke 15:6

This is a Promise. The verse is a parable told by Jesus to illustrate the joy in heaven over one sinner who repents. The promise is that God rejoices when a lost sinner is found and returns to Him.
