Prayer based on Luke 12:19. Themes: Materialism, Foolishness, Death.
Dear Lord, I thank you for the promise that you have many goods laid up for me for many years. I claim this promise and declare that my soul will take ease, eat, drink, and be merry. I trust in your provision and know that you will always provide for me. Help me to rest in your promises and not worry about tomorrow. Thank you for your faithfulness and love. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Verse: I will tell my soul, “Soul, you have many goods laid up for many years. Take your ease, eat, drink, and be merry.”’
Luke 12:19
This is a Promise. The verse is a statement of reassurance to the speaker’s own soul that they have plenty of material possessions and can therefore relax and enjoy life.
