Dear Lord, I come before you humbly and ask for your forgiveness for the times when I have strayed from your path. Just as the woman at the well had five husbands and was living with a man who was not her husband, I too have made mistakes and fallen short of your glory. Help me to turn away from my past and embrace the new life you have for me. Give me the strength to resist temptation and to follow your will for my life. Thank you for your grace and mercy, and for always being there to guide me back to you. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

John 4:18
This is a Command. The verse is a rebuke to the woman for her past actions and current situation. There is no promise given.
