Dear Lord, I thank you for the promise that you have given us in your word. You have said that if you go and prepare a place for us, you will come again and receive us to yourself, so that where you are, we may be also. I claim this promise today, Lord, and I ask that you would help me to live in a way that is pleasing to you, so that I may be ready when you come. I pray that you would prepare my heart and my mind for the day when you will return, and that you would help me to keep my eyes fixed on you, so that I may be found faithful when you come. Thank you for your love and your grace, and for the hope that we have in you. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
