Prayer based on John 13:21. Themes: Betrayal, Troubled Spirit.

Dear Lord Jesus,

As I come before you today, I claim the promise that you have given us in your word. You said that you would never leave us nor forsake us, and I believe that with all my heart.

I pray that you would help me to always remain faithful to you, even in the face of temptation and trials. I know that you were troubled in spirit when you spoke those words to your disciples, but you also promised that you would be with us always, even to the end of the age.

So I ask that you would strengthen me and guide me, so that I may always follow your will and your ways. Help me to be a faithful servant, and to never betray you or your teachings.

Thank you for your love and your grace, and for the promise that you will always be with us. I trust in you, Lord, and I pray this in your holy name.

Amen.

Verse: When Jesus had said this, he was troubled in spirit, and testified,“Most certainly I tell you that one of you will betray me.”
John 13:21

This is a Promise. The promise is that one of Jesus’ disciples will betray him.
