Praying from James 4:8 relating to Repentance, Holiness, Relationship.
Dear God, I come before you today with a humble heart, seeking to draw near to you. I know that as I draw near to you, you will draw near to me. Please help me to cleanse my hands from any sin that may be hindering my relationship with you. I pray that you would purify my heart and remove any double-mindedness that may be present. I desire to be fully devoted to you and to live a life that is pleasing to you. Thank you for your love and grace towards me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Verse: Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners. Purify your hearts, you double-minded.
James 4:8
This is a Command. The verse commands the reader to draw near to God, cleanse their hands, and purify their hearts. The promise is that if they do so, God will draw near to them.
