Praying from James 1:26 relating to Religion, Tongue, Deception
Dear God, please help me to be mindful of the words that come out of my mouth. May I not deceive my heart by claiming to be religious while not controlling my tongue. Please guide me to use my words to uplift and encourage others, and to speak truth with love. May my religion be genuine and not worthless in your eyes. Amen.
Verse: If anyone among you thinks himself to be religious while he doesn’t bridle his tongue, but deceives his heart, this man’s religion is worthless.
James 1:26
This is a Command. The verse commands the reader to bridle their tongue and not deceive their heart, otherwise their religion is worthless.
