Praying from Hebrews 12:9 relating to Chastisement, Respect, Subjection

Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for the fathers of our flesh who have disciplined and guided us throughout our lives. We have shown them respect and honor, but we know that we should be even more obedient to you, the Father of our spirits. Help us to submit to your will and live a life that is pleasing to you. May we always seek your guidance and direction, and may we never forget the love and grace that you have shown us. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.

Verse: Furthermore, we had the fathers of our flesh to chasten us, and we paid them respect. Shall we not much rather be in subjection to the Father of spirits and live?
