Praying from Acts 26:14. Themes: Redemption, Persecution, Obedience.
Dear Lord,
As I read these words, I am reminded of the moment when Saul fell to the earth and heard your voice speaking to him. I pray that you would speak to me in the same way, calling me by name and asking me why I am going against your will.
Help me to see the ways in which I am persecuting you, whether it be through my actions or my thoughts. Give me the strength to turn away from these ways and to follow you wholeheartedly.
I know that it can be hard to go against the goads, but I trust that with your help, I can do it. Thank you for your love and your grace, and for always being there to guide me on the right path.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Verse: When we had all fallen to the earth, I heard a voice saying to me in the Hebrew language,‘ Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting me? It is hard for you to kick against the goads.’
Acts 26:14
This is a Command. The command is implied in the question “why are you persecuting me?” which suggests that Saul should stop persecuting Jesus and his followers.
