Dear God, please help me to always stand up for what is right and just. May I never be like a whitewashed wall, appearing clean on the outside but corrupt on the inside. Give me the courage to speak truth to power, even if it means facing opposition or persecution. Help me to trust in your justice and not be swayed by the opinions of others. Thank you for your guidance and protection. Amen.

Verse: Then Paul said to him, “God will strike you, you whitewashed wall! Do you sit to judge me according to the law, and command me to be struck contrary to the law?”

This is a Command. The command is for God to strike the person being addressed.
