Praying from 2 Peter 3:16 relating to ignorance, destruction, understanding
Dear Lord, we thank you for the letters that you have given us, which speak of your truth and wisdom. We acknowledge that there are some things that are hard to understand, and we pray for your guidance and clarity as we seek to comprehend them. Protect us from the ignorance and instability that can lead us to twist your words to our own destruction. Help us to approach your Scriptures with humility and reverence, and to always seek your will above our own. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
Verse: as also in all of his letters, speaking in them of these things. In those, there are some things that are hard to understand, which the ignorant and unsettled twist, as they also do to the other Scriptures, to their own destruction.
2 Peter 3:16
This is a Command. The verse commands the reader to not twist or distort the Scriptures, as doing so will lead to their own destruction.
