Praying from 2 Peter 2:4 relating to Judgment, Sin, Punishment
Dear God, we acknowledge that you are a just and righteous God who does not tolerate sin. We thank you for your mercy and grace towards us, but we also recognize that you did not spare the angels who sinned. We pray that you would help us to live holy and blameless lives before you, and to resist the temptations of the enemy. We ask that you would protect us from the pits of darkness and judgment that await those who rebel against you. Help us to walk in the light of your truth and to follow your ways all the days of our lives. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
Verse: For if God didn’t spare angels when they sinned, but cast them down to Tartarus, and committed them to pits of darkness to be reserved for judgment;
2 Peter 2:4
This is a Command. The verse is warning the reader to not follow in the footsteps of the fallen angels and to avoid sinning, lest they too be cast down and reserved for judgment.
