Praying from 1 John 2:7 relating to Love, Commandment, Beginning.

Dear Lord,

As I come before you today, I am reminded of the words spoken by the apostle John, who wrote that he was not giving us a new commandment, but an old one that we had from the beginning. Lord, I pray that you would help me to remember this commandment and to live it out in my daily life.

May I always remember the word that I heard from the beginning, and may it guide my thoughts, words, and actions. Help me to love others as you have loved me, to forgive as I have been forgiven, and to serve others with humility and grace.

Lord, I know that I cannot do this on my own, but I trust in your strength and guidance. Help me to walk in obedience to your commandments, and to always seek your will above my own.

Thank you for your love and faithfulness, and for the gift of your word. May it continue to shape and transform me into the person you have called me to be.

In Jesus’ name,

Amen.

Verse: Brothers, I write no new commandment to you, but an old commandment which you had from the beginning. The old commandment is the word which you heard from the beginning.
1 John 2:7

This is a Command. The command is to follow the old commandment which was heard from the beginning.
