Praying from 1 Corinthians 7:5. Themes: Marriage, Self-control, Temptation.
Dear Lord, we pray that we may never deprive one another of love and affection, unless it is by mutual consent for a season of fasting and prayer. Help us to give ourselves fully to you during this time, so that we may be strengthened in our faith and our relationship with each other. Protect us from the temptations of Satan, and give us the self-control we need to resist his schemes. May our love for each other always be rooted in our love for you, and may we always seek to honor you in all that we do. Amen.
Verse: Don’t deprive one another, unless it is by consent for a season, that you may give yourselves to fasting and prayer, and may be together again, that Satan doesn’t tempt you because of your lack of self-control.
1 Corinthians 7:5
This is a Command. The verse commands the reader not to deprive their partner unless it is by mutual consent for a limited time, in order to avoid temptation from Satan due to lack of self-control.
