Praying from 1 Corinthians 7:18. Themes: Circumcision, Uncircumcision, Calling

Dear Lord, we come before you today with humble hearts, seeking your guidance and wisdom. We ask that you help us to understand the meaning behind the verse, “Was anyone called having been circumcised? Let him not become uncircumcised. Has anyone been called in uncircumcision? Let him not be circumcised.”

We pray that you would help us to see that this verse is not just about physical circumcision, but about the importance of accepting ourselves as we are, and not trying to change who we are to fit in with others.

Lord, we ask that you would help us to embrace our differences and celebrate the unique qualities that make us who we are. We pray that you would give us the courage to be true to ourselves, even when it is difficult or unpopular.

We ask that you would help us to love and accept others, regardless of their background or circumstances. We pray that you would help us to see the beauty in diversity and to work towards unity and understanding.

Lord, we thank you for your love and grace, and we ask that you would continue to guide us on our journey towards becoming the people you created us to be. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.

Verse: Was anyone called having been circumcised? Let him not become uncircumcised. Has anyone been called in uncircumcision? Let him not be circumcised.
1 Corinthians 7:18

This is a Command. The verse commands those who have been circumcised to not try to reverse it, and those who have not been circumcised to not get circumcised.
