Prayer based on Luke 14:18. Themes: Excuses, Priorities, Invitation
Dear Lord,
I come before you today with a humble heart, seeking your forgiveness for the times when I have made excuses instead of following your will. Just like the first person in the parable, I have often been preoccupied with my own plans and desires, neglecting the opportunities you have given me to serve you and others.
Please help me to overcome my selfishness and to prioritize your kingdom above all else. Give me the courage to say yes to your call, even when it requires sacrifice and discomfort. Teach me to trust in your provision and to rely on your strength to fulfill your purposes in my life.
Thank you for your grace and mercy, which are new every morning. May I never take for granted the privilege of being called your child and the responsibility that comes with it. May my life be a reflection of your love and truth, and may I bring glory to your name in all that I do.
In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
Verse: They all as one began to make excuses.“The first said to him, ‘ I have bought a field, and I must go and see it. Please have me excused.’
Luke 14:18
