Praying from Hebrews 5:12 relating to Discipleship, Spiritual Maturity.
Dear God,
I pray that you would help me to grow in my understanding of your word and your ways. May I not remain stagnant in my faith, but continue to mature and become a teacher to others. Please give me the wisdom and discernment to grasp the deeper truths of your revelations and to apply them to my life. Help me to move beyond the basics and to feast on the solid food of your word. May I never become complacent or satisfied with just milk, but always hunger for more of you.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Verse: For although by this time you should be teachers, you again need to have someone teach you the rudiments of the first principles of the revelations of God. You have come to need milk, and not solid food.
Hebrews 5:12
This is a Command. The reader is being commanded to become a teacher and not rely on others to teach them the basics of the revelations of God. They are being urged to move beyond the basics and onto more advanced teachings.
