Praying from 2 Corinthians 12:14. Themes: Love, Sacrifice, Parental Responsibility.
Dear Lord,
As I come before you today, I am reminded of the words of the apostle Paul, who said, “Behold, this is the third time I am ready to come to you, and I will not be a burden to you; for I seek not your possessions, but you.”
Lord, I pray that you would help me to have the same heart as Paul. Help me to seek not the possessions of others, but to seek them for who they are. Help me to love others as you love them, and to be willing to give of myself for their sake.
And Lord, I pray that you would help me to remember that “the children ought not to save up for the parents, but the parents for the children.” Help me to be a giver, not a taker, and to always be willing to put the needs of others before my own.
Thank you for your love and grace, Lord. Help me to live in a way that honors you and blesses those around me.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Verse: Behold, this is the third time I am ready to come to you, and I will not be a burden to you; for I seek not your possessions, but you. For the children ought not to save up for the parents, but the parents for the children.
2 Corinthians 12:14
This is a Command. The command is for parents to save up for their children, rather than the other way around.
